' and danced the skies....'

- ‘and danced the skies’ -
A perfect day in an elegant aircraft - the Bucker Jungmann almost literally dances it’s way through the sunlit halls. Composite of aircraft photographs from Duxford and a skyscape from my own archives.
Designed and built in Berlin in 1932 the Jungmann was selected as the basic primary trainer for the nascent Luftwaffe. The type was licensed for several European countries, serving in Spain until 1968, and was produced in great numbers (1200+) for the Japanese air arm. An incredible 200+ survive till this day and can be seen providing lively displays at many airshows.
The title is taken from ‘High Flight’ - the pilot’s mantra.
