'Those were the days........'

One of the real classics of the early jet age the F86 (Sabre) saw much operational action in Korea and continued in front-line service well into the 1950’s. As elegant in design as it was capable in performance the Sabre remained a favourite with many Air Forces. The RAF took delivery of over 450 with the RCAF another enthusiastic user - there are numerous examples still flying, out of the 7,800 built, all in the hands of warbird restorers. The aircraft in the image flies regularly at the Duxford airshows.
